The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit lived with his mother and three sisters beneath the roots of a tall fir tree. His mother reminded the young rabbits to stay close to home.

Peter was curious about the green garden beyond the lane. He slipped under the gate, tasted a crisp lettuce leaf, and then heard heavy footsteps on the path.

Peter hurried back through the gate and reached home safely. He promised to listen more carefully and save his next adventure for a place where he had permission to explore.
